Magnitude 4.2 earthquake registered in southern Spain’s Malaga

An earthquake of 4.2 magnitude was recorded at 15.45 yesterday (Monday) in the Malaga town of Almogía, according to information from the 112 Andalucia emergency services control room.

Spain’s National Geographic Institute (IGN) said the quake had its epicentre in Almogia – just 25km from Malaga – at a depth of 58 kilometres.

The 112 emergency telephone number said they had not received calls from the public about the earthquake and there are no reports of any kind of damage.
