Infoca forest firefighters join battle against Covid-19 coronavirus in southern Spain’s Andalucia

Andalucia’s Infoca technicians, forest firefighters and environment agents have joined the battle against the covid-19 coronavirus pandemic and joined cleaning and disinfection tasks, primarily in public facilities and buildings determined by the Junta’s Ministry of Health and Families.

The Junta has stressed that the forest fire prevention and extinction plan remains fully operational while these additional duties are being performed ‘thanks to the professionalism and commitment of all those who make up the Infoca Plan.’

In addition to disinfecting and cleaning tasks Infoca agents will also assist with the transport of people and materials (food or medical equipment) in light vehicles or by helicopter, as well as helping isolated populations in remote and hard-to-reach places.

In addition, they will assist with the surveillance and / or cutting of rural roads and highways if deemed necessary.
