My passion for Ronda

My passion for Ronda

Ronda – one of the most beautiful towns I have had the fortune to visit and live in!

Before CHARMING PROPERTIES ever existed for me as a property agent my passion began in this lovely town many years ago!

I was seriously involved in tourism and developing two holiday complexes in the famous white villages. I was also deeply involved in the buying, restoration and selling of old Spanish cottages and farmhouses in the area.

I had noticed the rising demand from the people visiting this lovely part of Andalucia who in turn grew to love it as I did and wished for their second home in or around Ronda.

I was so intrigued with the town it became my daily escape from the work I was doing at the time, the town held such a “magical feeling” while I wandered around the winding cobbled streets and into the fascinating historical monuments it was a complete relax for me.

The town has so much history about the old Spanish Bandoleros and the Moors along with the beautiful monuments it was, and still is, quite simply breath-taking!

Some years ago, for business reasons I had to leave my beloved “Ronda” and the “white villages” behind and continued my business in other parts of Spain and the Balearic Islands.

This was all a learning process for me at the time but I now find myself back in beautiful Ronda and found myself once again moving down memory lane.

Due to the unfortunate world events happening around us all just now I was delayed here and it has opened up all my old past feelings and passions for this old town so I decided to create my company as it is today, CHARMING PROPERTIES.

I was soon approached by old friends and contacts regarding properties and thought this would be my best move in these difficult times.

My past love for the area grew faster than I could have ever imagined!

I now find myself with an amazing portfolio of beautiful old Spanish properties and fincas in and around Ronda.

I daily take my strolls around town and I am amazed at how I always find myself repeating, I never fail to find some little corner with some history. The abundance of little tapas bars and restaurants serving fantastic Spanish cuisine.

I have found myself my favourite breakfast place called “Coffee Time” and for my lunch I go directly opposite to “Sabor de Mari y Jose”, both situated in Calle Sevilla just off the main shopping street, Calle de la Bola. You simply cannot beat them.

For those making a weekend break you can find a lovely little hotel in the same street called Hotel San Cayetano, a family-run hotel with comfortable rooms and prices to suit everyone’s pocket.

Another thing I notice about this town is the united attitude of the local people. Under the pressure of this crisis they always seem to have a joint approach to the things happening under the restrictions placed upon everyone. There is a “feeling” of unity and safety that can be felt and shown towards each other and visitors alike!

I highly recommend a visit to beautiful Ronda to everyone, a great escape from all of today’s pressures. It is truly a step into the past history of Andalucia.
