VIDEO: Twelve aircraft help stabilise large wildfire just inland from Spain’s Costa del Sol

Eight helicopters, four planes and almost a hundred ground firefighters have been drafted in to tackle a big wildfire that has broken out near Gaucín (Málaga), just inland from Spain’s Costa del Sol.

INFOCA, the specialist wildfire fighting unit, have reported that the blaze in is in area known as paraje La Capellanía between Gaucín and Casares.

At 2pm the fire was reported ‘stablised’ and operatives continue to work in high temperatures to control it.
