Child drowns in swimming pool in southern Spain – brother rescued

Emergency services in the south of Spain have reported a young child has drowned in a swimming pool in Sotogrande (Cadiz), in Andalucia.

The 112 Andalucia emergency control room said that the child’s brother was also rescued from the water and is reported to be in a good condition.

They report that at 17:10h several individuals called the 112 emergency number to request medical assistance for a child with symptoms of drowning that had been recovered from a swimming pool located in a club next to the beach in Sotogrande in the Cadiz municipality of San Roque.

Local Police and paramedics were quickly on the scene.

Health sources have confirmed that two brothers of three and five-years-old were rescued from the water and that one of them has died, while the other is in good condition.
