Five – including a child – injured in two-car smash on mountain road popular with Costa del Sol tourists in southern Spain

Five people, one of them a minor, were injured as a result of an accident between two cars yesterday (Friday) at kilometre 23 of the A-397 mountain road between Ronda and San Pedro on the Costa del Sol according to information from the 112 Andalucia emergency control centre.

Several witnesses called the emergency services at about 7.30 p.m of, a collision between two cars near Igualeja in the Serrania de Ronda.

The Emergency Coordination Centre quickly alerted the Guardia Civil traffic police, firefighters and ambulance service.

Health sources confirmed that five people were injured in the incident; three of them, a 46-year-old man, a 31-year-old woman and a seven-year-old minor, were transferred to the Serranía de Ronda hospital.

The other two affected people, also 31 and 46 years old, made their own way to the hospital.
