CORONOVIRUS – Emergency measures put in place by Junta de Andalucia’s Crisis Cabinet

The Junta de Andalucia  has ordered the closure of all commercial, hospitality and leisure establishments, public parks and beaches-  which will raise the red flag – from Sunday, March 15.

Grocery stores, pharmacies, fuel service stations, health clinics and emergency vets will be allowed to open.

The regional government has asked the public to remain in their homes and to refrain from leaving if it is not strictly necessary.

The Junta has ordered the partial closure of the Andalucian Government’s administrative function but maintain essential services from Monday, March 16. This will limit the maximum concentration of workers in public centres and administrative offices, but it will not paralyse their activity, which will continue through teleworking systems.

They will suspend some administrative procedures for 15 days until March 30.

The Junta will also establish a moratorium for expired ITVs for the next 15 days.

There will be an emergency declaration for public procurement.

Finally, for now, the Junta will reduce the hours of operation of the subways and buses at the interprovincial, provincial and metropolitan levels. They will limit the maximum capacity of carriages and buses to 50 per cent and the distance from the driver to the first line of occupation will be extended by leaving the first three rows clear.
