Art Gaucín Open Studios 2026

The new edition of Art Gaucin once again fills the streets of Gaucín with creativity, bringing together 20 artists from all disciplines across 16 studios open to the public. This year introduces new perspectives with Adrian Barclay and Belén Montero, alongside guest artists Roderic Stokes and José María Díez. This year’s edition will feature twenty-one artists across sixteen studios, offering visitors a close and authentic experience in which painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, and textile art engage in dialogue with the beauty of the Andalusian landscape. This year, the collective is enriched by the addition of two new artistic voices: Belén Montero, dedicated to textile creation, and Adrian Barclay, specialising in painting and printmaking. Art Gaucín also brings together nationally and internationally renowned artists such as Sánchez Zabaleta, Jim Rattenbury, Juan Antonio Sangil, Sian Faber, Ana Pellón, and Ira Goldberg, among others. Romería in Cortes de la Frontera

The Romería in Cortes de la Frontera is an annual cultural and religious pilgrimage celebrating the town’s patron saint, Nuestra Señora del Rosario. It seamlessly blends a sacred procession with a lively countryside fiesta, typically taking place in early June. The pilgrimage centres around the statue of the Virgin, which is carried or paraded from the town out into the surrounding countryside. Expect a vibrant atmosphere featuring horseback riders, decorated carts, the traditional coro (choir), communal outdoor dining, live bands, and DJs. The afternoon camp often hosts traditional Andalusian contests, including ‘carrera de cintas’ (ribbon races on horseback), children’s games, and the ‘concurso de garrocha’ (horsemanship and cattle-pole events). Locals dress in traditional Andalusian attire, with women wearing ‘trajes de flamenca’ costumes and men donning classic short riding jackets and wide-brimmed hats.

Corpus Christi in Serrato 2026

Once again, Serrato will celebrate together another deeply rooted tradition. The streets will be adorned with altars and the ferns scattered on the ground will transport us back to  the essence of a village on a day of cultural and festive tradition. The schedule is as follows: 6pm — Holy Mass of Corpus Christi at the Parish Church. Following the Mass — Solemn Procession of the Blessed Sacrament through the streets to visit the various altars erected in its honour. 8:30pm — Party time! Bar opens and tapas will be served at La Parada. 10:30pm — Bingo. Midnight — Live music performance by the band “Más que amigos” (More Than Friends). And then the party continues. Blues Music with Fernando Neris

Fernando Neris is an authentic Spanish Blues artist settled in Belgium since the year 2000. He is an acknowledged specialist in fingerpicking and lapsteel guitar, who has a deep knowledge of the old pre-war acoustic repertoire, giving as much importance to music as to the rich lyrics. His abundant discography includes collaborations with many Flemish and French-speaking artists, from blues-rock to jazz-blues, gospel and folk. Since 2009 Fernando preferably performs in solo format, not only in Belgium, but also in Spain and even in Japan. This year it will offer four days of free concerts with over 25 great bands from around the world, including around 12 from Texas in the USA. They will take place in the ancient and spectacular Andalusian mountain settings of Ronda, Montejaque and Cortes de la Frontera, in southern Spain!
