The cuisine of La Fructuosa has received a new inflection since the arrival of Javier Ruiz Vargas in the kitchen. Our chef, with his international experience on three continents, is always in search of the best local products and makes his culinary creations a delight for all the senses. We have a spectacular roof terrace on the top floor of the hotel which our guests or other visitors may book for private dinners or cocktail parties. Here you will have “the best views in Europe”, in the words of the Sunday Times (21 January, 2018). La Fructuosa organises regular live music events where a variety of local and international artists perform jazz, blues, classical, flamenco and pop music. During the high season we host weekly music evenings outside on the terrace; and in the winter, we hold tasting dinners followed by concerts on a monthly basis. We are at your disposal for the organisation of meals and family celebrations, with friends or for companies.
The beautiful white village (or pueblo blanco) of Gaucín, perched high up in the Serranía de Ronda, is famous for its spectacular views. At Hotel La Fructuosa, where we have created an oasis of calm in the very heart of this lovely village, our rooms and terraces have stunning panoramas stretching right across the Genal Valley to Gibraltar and Morocco in the distance. Our boutique hotel has five individually decorated rooms offering complimentary Wi-Fi, TVs and minifridges. Some feature whirlpool tubs, wood-beam ceilings and/or exposed brick walls. Breakfast is served in a former wine-pressing room or on a terrace that has views of the sea. There’s also a cozy restaurant. At the start of the 20th century it was a popular guest house called La Española (meaning The Spaniard), but all the locals called it La Fructuosa, or Fructuosa’s place, because that was the name of the owner. In 1997, Jesús and Luis bought the house in order to revive this much-loved landmark. The building had been abandoned for more than 15 years and was in a sorry state. After much reconstruction and renovation […]
